Raon in Quiapo, Manila

If you will cross this highway through the Pedestrian Crossing Bridge or over-pass, you'll be on the very busy Raon Street of Quiapo, Manila.

Vendors of the Porno CD's and VCD's displayed their products, which includes Rated "R" movies, Sex exhibitions movies, video of the in-a-relation male-female couple having sex in a hotel secretly recorded by a spy camera, and child pornography.

I wanted to take a photograph on the other side of the road where many people gathered, selecting and buying pornoVCD's and DVD's but I couldn't just to avoid any trouble with the vendors.

EDSA and Aurora Avenue Intersection

The Intersection of the Aurora Avenue and EDSA. The photograph shows the pedestrian crossing bridge painted with the MMDA colors, the MRT Railway (in between the pedestrian crossing bridge and another railway) and the LRT Railway.

Photograph taken on January 27, 2005. I was standing in front of the National Bookstore (at the right side of the EDSA when you're riding a vehicle going straight to NORTH Avenue.

Gilmore LRT Station

The Gilmore LRT Station, in corner Gilmore and Aurora Avenues, Quezon City.

If you will go to the Computer Shopping Center in Gilmore, you can ride the LRT and ride off here.

Photograph taken on January 27, 2005. I was standing on the second floor of the Gilmore Shopping Center building.

Gilmore Computer Shopping Center

The known Computer Shopping Center in Quezon City at corner Gilmore Avenue and Aurora Avenue.

The is the place where computer units and accessories can be bought at lower price due to the high competition of computer suppliers and stores. If you want to buy computer unit or accessories, canvass prices first. Ask a quotation from stores according to the specification of the computer you wanted to buy and compare prices. But be aware that, a store with the lowest price may give you a surplus computer parts.

Fire Hit Metro Manila

At 12:30 early morning (dawn), January 26, 2005, I went to Jollibee - Philcoa to buy food for my midnight snack. While I was walking towards the fastfood store, 2 fire trucks were speeding towards the Elleptical road. I was wondering if it was still the fire they're fighting since late afternoon or it was a new one. So, when I went home I immediately open my computer and I found this news:

A FORTY-SEVEN-year-old public grade school building in an old Manila district was partially destroyed when a two-hour fire swept through three buildings in the school campus on Monday evening.

While nobody was hurt in the incident, the fire, which started at 11:30 p.m., destroyed 22 classrooms at the Geronimo Santiago Elementary School on Nepomuceno Street, San Miguel.

"It spread so fast," said school principal Jesus Caraig. "Our security guards and maintenance personnel detected smoke, but when they came around to investigate, the fire was already too big to control."

Arson investigators estimated the damage at P6 million. The fire destroyed classrooms in two buildings and a single-story kindergarten building. (INQ7)
According to the news, a fire which hit a school building was happened on Monday evening. It made me wonder if the fire was really happened on Monday evening when that news was posted midnight on January 25, 2005 for the Inquirer Daily dated January 26, 2005.

And then we could notice that next to this report was the report on fire which hit the residential area at the back of the SM North Mall in Quezon city. The same report was posted on the Manila Times website January 26, 2005 edition, which means that the fire happened on January 25, 2005 which is Tuesday and not Monday.

Next to it, another report on fire which happend on Tuesday at Caloocan City.

In Caloocan City, more than P5 million worth of raw materials and equipment for making plastics went up in smoke in a fire that razed the Wymvico Realty warehouse Tuesday.(ibid)

This report was very confusing.

Overpass at St Peter church: Useless

The overpass which is shown below seems useless for the pedestrian near the St. Peter church in Commonwealth Avenue.

Instead of using the overpass in crossing the highway, pedestrian caught by my camera crossed the highway by running accross it.

Plastic for living

Overpass at Tandang Sora

The picture shows the overpass along Commonwealth Avenue corner Tandang Sora Avenue.

It was started to build before the May 2004 Presidential Election and said to be a priority project of President Gloria Arroyo. But after the election, I noticed that there were only few men working for it. And this morning I found out that there were only 3 men working slowly and seems no one was there to supervise the worker.

The question is, until when will this project be finished?

Taho

After our jogging every Sunday morning at the UP Diliman Oval, we'll then buy taho (beans curd in syrup). Sipping taho is part of our activity while relaxing our body after the exercises we've made. It is so delicious especially if it is still hot.

But we must be carefull in buying taho because there are vendors who use cloth in absurbing water from the taho instead of using cup or any materials which are clean and designed to throw water content of the taho.
