Free parking at North Triangle urged

Transport groups have urged Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Bayani Fernando to stop the issuance of parking tickets at the North Railroad Station in Quezon City.

Members of the North Triangle Intermodal Alliance Inc., composed of FX taxi and Asian utility vehicle drivers, said the agency’s operatives forced them to get P20-tickets when parking at the site along Edsa was supposed to be free of charge.

Manila IX bows out

Unlike last year when they needed 12 innings to subdue the Golden Girls, the hosts, this time, took only a regulation seven innings to edge out the gutsy Filipinos.

But it was an uphill battle just like last year.

The United States’ District 2 titleholder had to rally from a 1-0 deficit to remain one of the only three unbeaten teams in the nine-team, one-round elimination round.
