Eating Garbage

I heard a news today saying: "TWO young children died the other day because they ate rotten food recovered from a garbage can and brought home by their father. Did you get that? Poor Filipinos have been reduced to eating garbage -- literally -- and are dying because of it."

Actually it's not a new thing. There are lot of poor Filipino who died because of eating rotten food. I arrived here in Manila last 2001 and I witnessed many children trying to recover food from the garbage drum. I even witnessed a child in Luzon Avenue who was dying after eating the spagetti brought by their father who admitted that he only recovered it from the garbage.

There's nothing to wonder about this truth. If those rich Filipinos reduced to eating food which used to be eaten by earlier poor Filipinos. So, the current poor Filipinos will be expected to eat food recovered from garbage.

Eat All You Can at Cabalen Restaurant

Brother Michael celebrated his birthday party with us at Cabalen Restaurant in SM North, where we enjoyed the Eat All You Can policy of the restaurant.

I tried to eat more seafoods like: squid, shrimp, crab, tahong, suso, heto and telapia. I alseo tasted their letson, karikari, kangkong, sisig, and pork adobo. We've done it in three rounds of heavy meals and the fourth round was for the halohalo special of Cabalen. And of course with bottomless Ice Tea.

For two hours of doing our food trip, we paid only PhP 1325.00 for five of us. Sulit diba?

A Good Advice

It was 11:00 am inside the MRT when I meet a lady who gave me an advice regarding my activity here in the internet especially my EXPOSES on the Ang Dating Daan and Brother Eli Soriano. I was reading a tabloid when a lady approached me and calling me my alias, "Ka Webspy."

I pretended I didn't hear her calling me, as if I didn't know Ka Webspy. But then he stood in front of me and said, "I know you... Ka Webspy..."

I looked straight into her eyes.

"Look! Okay... I understand why... but I just want to warn you..." She told me. "I appreciated the way you exposed the life and teaching of Brother Eli Soriano and the activities of the Ang Dating Daan, but I am affraid you'll be harmed because of these things."

I was touched by what she had said, but still I pretended as if I was not Ka Webspy. When we reached the Cubao station, she sat at my side.

"I admire you." She continued. "You're so smart and brave. I witnessed last year on how the member of the Ang Dating Daan gave you a threat on a certain online forum... that he would kill you if he'll see you. But then you continue what you have started."

She told me many things, when we reached Santolan station, she then left me behind.

I was so thankful for there are many people around me who cared for me and supported my online activities. Praises are for God.

Earthquake Hit Manila

Another earthquake disturbed me while I was encoding my research work on TVET. I still don't know its intensity but I think that was around 3-4 intensity, a bit higher than the one happened last month. I was just worried thinking that the building where I stayed was just made of very low-standard materials and has a weakest foundation. You know... I am here staying in one of the squatters area of Quezon City. And when I looked around, I saw the computers beside me seem to fall while their tables were dancing. The glass door of our quarter was swinging and its noise had caused me nervous.

I lost my work for an hour, finding ways to relax my flesh. Breathing fresh (not that fresh, but cool) air to clean up my lungs and taking time to grasp those ideas that lost their way in my mind.

Anyway, that was just part of my life while staying here in Manila.
